HP 250 G5 i5 6200U

Hi to everyone, today we have interesing review not expensive but pretty fat laptop from HP HP 250 G5 There is no more technical info on the box Lets look what’s inside Manuals Manuals are pretty convinient for non experineced user Also we have here external component guide For most users this quick manual coulde be useful Take everything out, but not expecting much because laptop is not expensive It was bought for 430 USD in Ukraine Inside we have core i5 CPU That’s why the main part of this money amount spent on this CPU , the rest components are like bonus =) This is the cheapest offer for core i5 on the market Lets look closer at it slim enough, considering it has optical drive 3 cell battery To replace something you need to dissasembly everything Here we have nice texturized panel Nice mechanically modified surface Everything made not bad at all but budgetary I/O ports headphones HDMI VGA LAN Charge input and indicator At opposite side one USB and card reader plus optical drive Camera and microphone obviously As we see, it will be hard to insert external mic 15 inch screen 1366×768 Enough resolution for this size Should be 4 GB DDR4 RAM inside HDD 500 and the rest – standart laptop set of features Install OS and look how it works Windows 10 enterprise installed CPU Frequency changes automatically from 400-2800 Mhz Haven’t saw freq lower than 500 mhz actually This is good because we save power 3MB l3 cache Memory is DDR4, this is good Actually there is no much differeence between ddr 3 and ddr4 but ddr4 is anyway better Made by samsung, this is also good GPU Freq 300-1000 Mhz This is old benchamark, but we can estimate how performs our integrated video Video Perfrormance is about mid, hi-mid level year 2008 Look at cinebench last version Older version of cinebench – compare to core i3 3220 of my desktop CPU, which i bought in 2013 It has almost identical performace what is actually good for mobile CPU Almost twice faster than E8400 socket 775 CPU As expected CPU has pretty nice performance Lets try some gaming Look at Graphics settings Almost all medium settings Game is playable no serious freezes or similar Definitely it is possibel to play battlefield 4 wihtout problems And game looks not bad at med settings Lets play Biosshock realeased in 2013 40 fps everything looks good settings graphics quality standart, quality level very low Even at this settings level game looks nice Next TED V Skyrim around 20 fps, setting i will show later but as you can see there some lags, probably due to video driver or game release don’t know all settings are in lowest values F1 2012, not the freshest game but might be inetersing for sim fans Settings almost everything to mid level blincking crowd, also probably due to intel drivers 34 fps very nice and smooth performance Last and freshest today’s game – shdow warrior 2 we will have problems ghere low performance only 8-9 fps, maybe due to lack of RAM set textures to low, but black screen probably restart is needed but abyway is hard to play this game with HD520 woring time on battery around 3 hrs in office mode, 1,5 hrs at max load wi-fi also work good lets consider pros and cons of this laptop the main good point is i5 CPU also integrated graphics which allow us to play art least old games Value also + It’s very compact Lets consider bad moments first minor issue is that fingerprints easily stay at laptop surface also not many ports, only one USB port (but for me is not a con) Now seriuos cons Problem installing windows 7 from USB Flash, and other further problems with this OS, Other PC desktop hardware vendors provide utilities to make nice bootable US flash stick to install WIN 7 smoothly Also we have UEFI here it has legacy BIOS support but it was not realized properly Also if you are a @pirate@ and use windows activators – you will also having troubles to do it When at least i installed windows 7 from DVD I also had some troubles with installing drivers from HP website
